Hydroponics

Hydroponics is the easy-care way to keep plants without soil. It is an alternative to classic soil and offers a clean and low-maintenance way to cultivate plants entirely without soil. Instead of traditional potting soil, plants grow in expanded clay or other inorganic substrates. These store water and ensure optimal nutrient and oxygen supply. The planted pots stand in a container/cachepot, which is filled with water up to a certain height. The plant uses this reservoir and thus thrives without soil.

How does hydroponics work?:

Instead of an organic substrate, an inorganic substrate is used. This can be expanded clay, pon, pumice, zeolite, etc. The plant is planted in this substrate and draws the nutrients and water it needs. There is no waterlogging or mold formation and daily watering is eliminated. Perfect for anyone who has little time for plant care or is looking for a clean solution for home or office.

Advantages of hydroponics:

  • Easy to care for: Less watering, thanks to water reservoir.
  • Clean & Hygienic: No mold, no fungus gnats.
  • Ideal for allergy sufferers, as no soil is used.
  • Optimal nutrient supply: Long-term fertilizer ensures healthy growth.
  • More sustainable than normal potting soil. The substrate can be reused.

What should be considered?

  • Use the right container. Special pots for hydroponics make care easier, and thanks to the water level indicator, you always have the correct water level in view.
  • Rinse the substrate thoroughly before first use to remove any residues.
  • Keep an eye on the water level. Too much or too little water can lead to root rot.
  • Regular fertilization! Fertilizers specially tailored to hydroponics will help you provide the plant with optimal nutrients.

Hydroponics is a simple and sustainable solution for anyone who loves plants but wants low maintenance.
